Daryl van Arkel
Chief Executive Officer
Daryl is a seasoned entrepreneur who has launched 5 successful businesses in as many years across the media, advertising, technology and transport sectors. An infatuation with location and location based advertising (LBA) began back in 2008 when GPS devices became commonplace, this led to ongoing innovation to try and push LBA forward with brands and advertisers.
Today, Daryl is CEO of Vicinity Media and serves on the boards of Guerrilla IMC and Business Positioning Systems providing them with strategic direction.
Chief Operating Officer
Having graduated from Rhodes University and RAU following his journalism and marketing studies, Neil started his advertising career at Young & Rubicam. After numerous local and international awards he rose to the position of Creative Director at just 26 years old. Alongside Daryl van Arkel, Neil has built five profitable businesses in South Africa and Europe across the media, advertising, technology and transport sectors. In 2012 Neil was named one of 25 media game changers in South Africa.

Charles brings with him many years of location experience gained as the founder of WAND Africa Pty Ltd. His extensive business consulting expertise were engaged in launching TELMAP SA’s Location Based Advertising Service, introducing Map Based NAVTEQ Location Point advertising platform to SA market and worked with Navteq and Nokia Ad ops teams in UK, Germany and Finland.
Dwane is passionate about all things digital as well as creating strategic digital advertising campaigns for clients. His career in digital began as a mobile content media buyer, working on finding the best possible mobile traffic for the optimal Cost Per Click to drive client conversion. Dwane was later contracted by a leading digital sales house to sell premium mobile and online inventory through an array of online and mobile platforms.
Darren van der Schyff
Having joined the digital media industry with in 2011, Darren has gained a sound experience of various media platforms, publishers and competitors in the market place. He possesses a strong technical understanding of media channels due to his technical background as a former coder and an eternal fascination with tech, online and mobile. Over the past three years his core focus has been with push content, local and mobile media. Darren is a strong believer in the power of local and mobile advertising and believes that the future of advertising lies in the hands of the consumer.
